Charleston is a city that is simply full of old world charm and elegance. It’s a beautiful place to visit to experience the elegance first hand as well as to be able to visit one of the U.S.’s oldest cities as Charleston was originally founded in 1670. While looking for accommodations for our trip to Charleston I was enchanted by the Hotel Bennett when I saw it online. Hotel Bennett has a lovely culmination of tradition, intricate European-inspired architecture, and southern hospitality. The attention to detail was all around and simply inspiring. Enjoy the beautiful details as I take you through the hotel property, our room, La Patisserie and the gift shop.
the property
Hotel Bennett has a beautiful interior with elegant details all around. Everything from the bouquets of flowers, chandeliers, marble counters, gilded details and plenty of elevated areas to just sit and relax were imbued with sophistication. Walking around the hotel was a visual pleasure around every corner and each detail, no matter how small was simply elegant.
the room
The details that enchanted me upon walking into the hotel also came when I walked into our hotel room. The room was spacious with a king bed, a beautiful view of a church and the water, a large bathroom with a soaking tub, beautiful linens and curtains, and more marble and gilded details in the decor. The mornings were spent leisurely lounging with a cup coffee from our Nespresso that was in our room and the evenings were spent soaking in the tub followed by wrapping up in a fluffy robe. After walking on average 16,000 steps a day, the tub was especially the highlight of the evenings in our hotel room.

La Patisserie
Within our hotel was a cute little restaurant called La Patisserie. We often had breakfast here before going out to explore Charleston, but the beautiful desserts is where they truly excelled. I could have easily had one of each as they all looked so delicate and delectable. We would often get coffee here too. Having this Parisian inspired spot located right within our hotel delighted me each and every time I would visit.
the gift shop
If there is a gift shop in a museum or hotel then I am sure to make a visit. Even if I do not purchase anything there is something so charming about exploring a gift shop with its carefully curated items. The gift shop in our hotel was a small one, but I really enjoyed looking around and really liked the beautiful Christmas ornaments they had. The aesthetic was just like their hotel, elegant with a touch of southern charm.
